Vintage 1930s bangle set in green Bakelite. The bangle is smooth to touch with diamante stone inset into the bracelet.

 

Bakelite was an early resin made from plastic, developed by Leo Baekeland in 1907. Bakelite became popular in the 1920s to 1940s, it was popular due to the variations of colours and its durability.Bakelite’s range of colours were given names like Creamed Corn, Butterscotch, Egg Yolk, and Salmon. Today Bakelite is a popular collector's item.

  

MEASUREMENTS

The bangle internal measures is 6.7cm / 2.6" in diameter and external diameter is 8cm / 3.1". The width of the bracelet is 0.7cm / 0.2".

MEASURING YOUR WRIST

Use a tape measure. Wrap the tape measure around the wrist on which you plan to wear your MAYVEDA bracelet. Make a note of the number at the point where the tape meets the 0. To ensure the bracelet fits comfortably, add 1.5 cm. You can then add or subtract centimetres according to whether you prefer a loose, exact or tight fit

 

CONDITION

The bracelet is in good vintage condition.
