"When you wish upon a star, as dreamers do, fate is kind" - Pinocchio

Star motif jewellery was incredibly popular in the Victorian era and the fashion of celestial jewellery has not faded. Stars symbolise motivation, protection, wishes and spirituality.

Our unique Antique Victorian bracelet features a foil backed paste faceted stone set into a 9ct gold setting. The stone is set with a beautiful star, this setting would have been hand engraved by an expert engraver.

Paste is hand-cut leaded glass. The glass is cut and placed on a foiled base and polished until it resembles a gemstone such as a diamond. Paste jewellery is highly regarded it became popular when Georges Frederic Strass marketing false diamonds to the French royalty in 1700. Paste was considered a popular material in costume and fine jewellery from the 1750s-1930s.

The bracelet was expertly reimagined from a stickpin into a bracelet by our expert Hatton Garden master Goldsmith in London, England. Please note the bracelet was soft soldered when the rings were added to the piece this was purposely done so not to damage the foil backed of the paste stone.
