In Victorian symbolism, the butterfly represented the soul. Within religion, the cycle of a butterfly has meaning - life (caterpillar), death (chrysalis), rebirth or resurrection (butterfly).

 

Our unique butterfly wing pendant dates back to the Victorian era (1837-1901). The pendant was formally a brooch expertly transformed into a wearable pendant. The pendant features a stunning iridescent butterfly wing suspended in a glass and sterling silver frame.

 

This piece was converted from a brooch into a pendant by our expert Hatton Garden London goldsmith.

MEASUREMENTS

The pendant measures 5cm / 2" in length and the necklace measures 42.7cm / 18" in length. The pendant hangs from a new solid sterling silver belcher chain.
