Vintage 1960's statement necklace, featuring large square cut gemstones. The claw set states alternate between plain, frosted and iridescent giving the piece of three dimensional effect. The setting of the piece is most likely plated sterling silver, the necklace is too light in weight to be solid silver. The piece is unusual in design and rare in style.
HISTORY The 1960's was the decade of 'anything goes' in fashion and jewellery. Jewellery was bigger, chunkier and bolder than ever before, often psychedelic. It was all about bringing jewellery to everyone by using non-precious materials and developing its wearability.
