Vintage 1970s Gold Plated Star Monet Bangle Bracelet
Vintage 1970s designer bangle crafted by jewellery fashion house 'Monet'. The bracelet features gold plated bangle with star detailing. The clasp is stamped with the designers mark '© 'MONET' indicating the piece was made in the 1980s. Monet pieces are excellent quality due to the triple-gold plated finish.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Monocraft was founded by Jay and Michael Chernow in 1929, where they capitalised on monogramming. They launched Monet in 1937 with jewellery designer Edmund Mario Granville from Cartier. Monet evolved into one of the leading costume jewellers and designers in the 1940's. Monet's classic designs were made in silver and gold tone metals with the addition of crystals. They were renowned for created a more comfortable clip-on earring appealing to women of the post war era. Monet also produced jewellery for Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix during the 1980's and it remains popular today.
The bangle measures 7cm / 2.7" in diameter. The height of the bracelet is 1cm / 0.3".
MEASURING YOUR WRIST
Use a tape measure. Wrap the tape measure around the wrist on which you plan to wear your MAYVEDA bracelet. Make a note of the number at the point where the tape meets the 0. To ensure the bracelet fits comfortably, add 1.5 cm. You can then add or subtract centimetres according to whether you prefer a loose, exact or tight fit.
The bracelet is in excellent vintage condition.

Bracelet Size Guide
Measure your Wrist Size
To find your perfect bracelet size, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Take a flexible tape measurement or a strip of paper and place it below the wrist bone or where you would normally wear the bracelet.
Step 2: If you are using a strip of paper, mark the paper and then use a ruler to measure the length.
Step 3: Now you have your wrist size, you can add 1/4" for a snug fit, 3/4" for comfort fit or 1 1/4" for a loose fit.

Necklace Length Guide
A 14" necklace fits just around then like a chocker.
A 16" necklace will fall around the base of the neck similar to a collar. The fall of the necklace will depend on the individual size of the wearers neck.
A 18" necklace will fall below the throat at the collarbone.
A 20" necklace will fall a few inches below the collar bone, this length is perfect for a lower neckline.
A 22" necklace will fall below a standard neckline.
A 24" necklace will fall below a standard neckline..
A 36" necklace will fall bellow the bust.

Type of Earrings
Throughout history earring styles have changes from delicate Edwardian screws to showstopping 1980's pieces.
Wire Back: Until the late 1800s fish hook or shepherd hook earrings were the most popular style of earring. These types of earrings are confortable and secure to wear.
Screw Back: Screw back earrings were invented in 1894 this allowed women to wear earrings without piecing their ears. The earring back has a screw which applies pressure to the earlobe to keep the earring in place.
Clip On: Clip on earrings started to became popular in the 1920's up to the 1980's. Wearing clip on earrings is particular good if the earrings are very large, as they do not drag the ear lope down. A clip earring is spring-loaded to confortably hold the earring on the earlobe.
